These are our teachers at present:

Shaykha Dina Essam (Al-Azhari)

Shaykha Dina Essam is a Hafiza of the holy Quran and is originally from Egypt. She is currently based in the UK with her family.

She studied at Al-Azhar in Egypt. She is highly qualified in teaching the Quran and has Ijaza’s in the 10 (Qira’at) from leading Shaykh’s in Egypt with Isnaad linking her to the Prophet Muhammad (saw).

Shaykha Dina Essam has delivered many courses to train teachers in Egypt and is currently teaching many teachers in the UK. She has also granted Ijaza’s to many of her students.

She studied Arabic, Fiqh, Aqeedah, Seerah, Tafseer and Hadith at Al-Azhar and with some of the scholars in Egypt.

Shaykha Dina Essam works as the Head of Education at Al-Quran Institute.

Shaykha Dr Shadia Osman

Shaykha Dr Shadia Osman is a Hafiza of the Holy Quran and holds Ijaza in two readings (Qira’at) of Hafs & Shoaaba from Asim, from Shaykha Mona.  She has an Ijaza to teach Tajweed from the Arkam Institute in Cairo, Egypt. She has also studied the Verbal similarities of the Holy Quran, by Shaykha Ayah.

She is fluent in English as well as Arabic which is her mother tongue.

Shaykha Dr Shadia is currently working as a Doctor in a hospital in Cairo. She has volunteered in many non-profit Islamic organisations teaching the holy Quran & Tajweed.

Shaykh Wasīm Farūq

Shaykh Wasīm was raised in England. He began his early Islamic Studies at the Institute of Islamic Education in West Yorkshire, where he studied Urdu, Farsi, Arabic language and literature, along with Tajweed, Fiqh, Hadith, Tafsir and other Islamic Sciences. To complete his studies he travelled to New Delhi, India, where he concluded his hadith studies and received ijazas in the major hadith books.

Subsequently he has read BA Honours in Arabic with Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies at the University of Durham and holds an MA in Information Studies from University College London.

Shaykh Wasīm has been involved with Al-Quran Institute since 2011 teaching Quran, Tajweed, Fiqh, and Arabic. Currently he resides in London with his wife and works full time as a head Librarian.

Shaykh Dr. Ahmed Elawady

Dr. Ahmed Elawady is a medical doctor. He graduated from the prestigious Al-Azhar University in 2008 and joined the teaching staff as a teaching assistant in the Physiology Department in 2011.

Dr. Ahmed completed the memorisation of the whole Quran at the Al-Azhar Institute for Boys in Aexandria in 2002. He has studied Tajweed and Quran under many Scholars in Egypt. He is currently based in the UK having completed his MSc in Public Policy and Management at King’s College London in 2015.

Shaykha Ola Eloraby

Ustadha Ola Eloraby is based in Egypt. She is a graduate of Cairo University in Business Administration. In addition she has also studied Tajweed. She holds an Ijaza in Quran linked to the Prophet Muhammad (saw). She is a specialist in correcting students in pronouncing the letters (makharij) of the Quran. Since 2006 Ustadha Ola has helped many people to master the art of Quran reading according to the Hafs recitation chain.

Shaykha Raifa Hagag

Shaykha Raifa resides in Cairo. She is a Hafiza of the Quran and also a graduate from the faculty of commerce, Mansoura University. She holds several Ijaza’s in reciting the holy Quran and is licensed to teach.

Shaykha Raifa continues to study other Islamic Sciences such as Tafseer,  Hadith and Fiqh.

She is a very dedicated teacher who is committed to teaching the holy Quran with perfect Tajweed online to English speaking students.

Hafiza Wafaa Mohammed Khalil

Hafiza Mohammed Khalil joined Al-Quran Institute in 2015. She is a Hafiza of the Quran as well as a graduate in English from the Faculty of Alson, Ain Shams University, Cairo. She is currently working as a full time translator of Arabic to English for an international company. In addition she spends her time teaching students the holy Quran online. She is also the head of Social Media at Al-Quran Institute managing a large team.

She is a very dedicated teacher who is an excellent communicator and passionate about spreading the Quran and the message of Islam globally. She resides in the town of Minya Al Qamh in Egypt with her family.

Hafiza Rawda Shalaby

Hafiza Rawda Shalaby was born in the USA. She spent a substantial amount of her life in Singapore and Egypt but is now based in Dubai. She is fluent in English as well as Arabic.

She is a Hafiza of the Quran and also a graduate from the faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University. Currently she is currently studying for a Masters in Nuclear Engineering. Moreover, Hafiza Rawda Shalaby has studied Seerah, Tajweed and Makhaarij in various Institutes throughout Egypt as well as having taught Quran in many Centres too. She has also taught ESL (English as a Second Language).

Hafiza Rawda specialises in teaching Quran to children online with the Institute. She is also the head of communications at the Institute with the overall responsibility of ensuring all our teachers are proficient in the English Language.

Ustadha Aishatu Sanusi Mohammed

Ustadha Aisha is a British National and resides in London. She completed her Quran recitation with Tajweed with Al-Quran Institute and is now part of our teaching team. Originally from Nigeria, she graduated with a BA (Hons) in International Relations from London Metropolitan University. In addition she spent more than for 3 years in Syria studying the various Islamic Sciences including, Quran, Arabic, Fiqh, Aqeedah, Hadith and Seerah.

She is fluent in English as well as Arabic. She specialises in teaching women and children.

Ustadha Aisha is very much appreciated by her students who learn from her online and in person.
